Default Child's Play Remake 2010/2011

so i was hearing rumor's of a child's play in the work's? but i was thinking to myself.
what would the fan's really wanna see? out of this remake. being the original director behind the 80's child's play film, re entering the classic again and trying to Re-Invent or Maybe Change the way it'll play or pan out!

my idea and ive had this idea in my head for year's of a child's play remake.

would've been

Charle's Lee Ray, the Serial Killer himself. being the Human Side of himself in the entire half of the film and it would open alot of door's and idea's behind the charecter. and give us insight into the world of his mind and if pulled off correctly could play out like Silence of The Lamb's, or some heavy drama/thriller film..

but with brad Douriff being as old as he is, they'd have to get somebody which there really isnt anybody that can play Charles lee ray, or aka Chucky then Brad..

YouTube - ANDY and CHUCKY from CHILD'S PLAY (2010)

this raised a flare with me? i dont think any of that youtube video is legit. and was most likely fan-made.
but if that's really what chucky has been re-designed to look and appear like
which i havent heard any legit. or offical word on him appearing that way?

i was just curious to see what alot of other's thought of a remake, and wanted to see what other Child's Play. Or Chucky fan's out there.
were curious to pitch in there own idea's for a remake..

Thanks

Well for one, I'm a Child's Play fan, have been since the first film. Although I must say, Seed really pushed it...and that movie alone definitely made the reboot worth it. Now as far as Chucky being redesigned, that has been confirmed (he will be different, apparently "scarier"). That YT video is NOT legit.

I think the remake should be what it originally was meant to be...Andy turning out to be the actual killer, and the audience being led to believe it was the doll all along. And of course, a cameo by Tilly...that would be awesome. Since we found out in Bride that Tiff was Charles' girlfriend before the events of Child's Play, that would be pretty easy (despite the remake being separate from the other movies).

Oh, and personally, even though I wish it's this year, I'm pretty sure the release will happen in 2011. But if you caught any of the special features on the 20th anniversary DVD/Blu-ray, it's been said a dentist scene will be used (it was initially suppose to be used in the first film).

I liked the first three Child's Play movies, after that they fell into the comedy/horror fashion which I think ruined the series.
As far as a remake..ehhhh, remakes usually aren't as good as the original and the first three, for me, hold a bit of nostalgia, and I'm afraid a remake could diminish that for me.(e.g. Flubber and Freaky Friday with Logan and Curtis)
Now if you want to do a movie that is similar to Child's Play and use some of the same themes and such I am all for it.

wow. andy was originally? supposed to be the killer all along? i never knew that.. show's how much i knew..
and yes. tilly should be apart of the story as well, but maybe not this time around..

yeah Remake's these day's are kind of worryful if it's not set right

but i do like that story idea andy, being the killer all along. and dreamed up Chucky as sort of his friend and imaginary friend,
but then Chucky was very much the main in all the childs play film's so that would be kind of a Bad and Good Story to choose from but
i would much rather see chucky, as the doll he was.. maybe changed and more scarier, but not too many change's.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the changes, I'm sure we'll still know it's Chucky, lol. And if they plan on making sequels to the remake, then they'll probably have to have Chucky be the actual killer, but I think a standalone remake would work with Andy being the killer. I hope it's this year, would be real nice!

Yes.

Why do you think they are still making those silly Saw films. It'll be 2020 and we will be watching Saw 100.

i hope the opposite i hope

Chucky, is Returned.. as his form in the first Classic Child's play..
and he hasnt been changed much, just up to date. with this generation..
and that the film is true to the nature of the child's play film..
which it will be

but yeah, these remake's these day's have gotten very Cheap and kind of a slap to the original's..
i think the only remake's i ever enjoy are usually Dune Production's
like Texas Chainsaw, and Friday the 13th!

I'm just curious: do you know if the 'how it was meant to be' version would still have the introduction with the serial killer in the toy store? Then he'd do his voodo magic thingy, NOT work (yet suggesting to the audience that it did) and it turns out Andy was the killer all along?!?!? hahaha

Anyways, i loved the first film; truly one of the only horror movies to actually scare me as a child (and quite possibly today! ). I felt #2 was boring, #3 was somehow my favourite and after that was just terrible. Though the ending of #4 SHOCKED ME LIKE NEVER BEFORE lol.

Oh no, the original story had a different setup in the beginning, obviously. And there were other scenes planned too, including that dentist one I mentioned.

I actually Heard about this remake like almost two years ago. Its been listed on IMDB for that long with Brad Douriff as charles lee ray. I would like to see some more info soon.

Part 2 was my favorite, then part 1 and then part 3. the other two blew hard.

Default Chucky Returns in Child's Play Reboot

Quote:
Source: http://movies.ign.com/articles/115/1157785p1.html

With legal issues resolved, everyone's favorite murderous doll can kill again.

We've gotten Jason, Freddy and Leatherface reboots. So why not Chucky?

Movieweb reports that the little homicidal mold of plastic will be returning to cinemas soon, now that MGM has cleared up some legal issues surrounding the character.

"The remake had been in development for several years, with a script already written by Don Mancini, who also wrote all the previous movies in the Chucky franchise," says the site. "The hold-up on the remake was apparently due to rights issues by MGM and Universal. MGM has the rights to the original Child's Play, while Universal retained rights to the sequels. Apparently, a deal has been made between the two studios."

Production reportedly will begin later this year, with Brad Dourif returning to voice Chucky. Which automatically makes the film sound like a sequel rather than a reboot, but MW says unconfirmed talk is that the picture will be "more of a reboot, with a darker tone and less comedic elements."
Quite looking forward to it myself, what with the sequels going down hill a bit.

Got to agree I have been looking forward to a Chucky reboot for since it has been announced and happy that it's finally moving forward.

Only problem is that Chucky has been broke for a long time now and is in need of a fixing IMO.

Freddy remake - worse then the original
Halloween remake 1,2- worse then the original
Friday the 13th remake- worse the the original
Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake- i think is better then the original but it is debatable of course..
