Player for streaming vid's from PC?

I want to replace my original 20GB PS3 that's in the bedroom because it's too loud and hot

I'd rather go with a stand alone player, but want something that will stream my media from the PC and do a good job of streaming Netflix, Vudu, etc.

I've seen some not good reviews of the Sony 480, so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on that one.

Anyone have some good success with an LG, Samsung or other brand?
