Default HT in Reference Style

Hello everybody,

I think it's time to start my own HT-thread to discuss my pride and joy!!
I am a member since 2007 and was lurking around all the time. I have seen a lot of killer setups on this page and many ideas, which i have tried to implement into my setup! I think all of them worked out pretty good.

I basically have two setups! Why would anybody need 2 setups?

Well, I have my living room setup which i use for watching TV.

and then i have my dedicated HT room which i use only for Blurays and DVD's

HT gear for the living room:
63" Samsung Plasma 1080p (I don't remember the SN)
Denon AVR-2809CI
Denon DBP-2010CI
Emotiva XPA-3
Emotiva UPA-2
X-Box 360 ELITE
Energy CF70, front L and R speaker
Aperion Intimus 6C, Center speaker
SpeakerCraft MT TWO, surround
Polk Audio PSW110 and
Aperion Bravus 10D, Subwoofer

I wanna have good sound while watching TV. I watched one bluray on this system just for testing and i was pretty satisfied with it's performance! What a crime!!!

HT gear for the dedicated movie room:
JVC-RS40 (3D Projector)
Carada 104" 1.78 to 1 Brilliant White Gain 1.3 Screen
Carada 104" Diagonal Horizontal Maquerade Masking System
Denon AVR-3311CI
Emotiva UPA1 (X3)
Emotiva UPA2 (X3)
Sony BDP-CX960 (X2), 400 Bluray Changer each
Sony DVP-CX995V , 400 DVD Changer
OPPO BDP-93
X-Box 360 Elite
Playstation 3 160GB Slim
Samsung 40" LED 3D TV, Used as PC Monitor and TV.

Speakers:
KEF IQ90, front L and R
KEF IQ60c, (X2) Center
KEF IQ30, (X2) front height
KEF IQ30, (X4) side surround
KEF IQ30, (X2) rear surround

SVS PB12-Plus, (X2) front subwoofers
Polk Audio PSW110, (X2) rear subwoofers

Almost all of the acoustic treatments are DIY.

Everytime i enter my HT room, a big smile covers my face and i am really happy how it all came together!
I wish i would have some older pics of my first setup! Back then i had a Kennwood HTIB. I never thought that one day it will look like the way it looks right now!
Well, thats it for my first post in my own thread!
Let me know what you think! See you all later!

Just wanted to say that I love both of your setups. It shows the time and effort you put into them both. I use to be an owner of the KEF q series and absolutely loved those speakers. Very nice setups!!!!

Thanks guys,
I wish I would have a better camera so I can do some nice shoots. All I have is a point and shoot and it takes several shoots to get one decent picture especially in my ht room since it's so dark in there. If I wouldn't blow all my money on ht gear, I probably could afford a nice Camera! Oh well!

You have a great style and taste in your set-up(s) Reference. Your set-up(s) are great examples of what a living room and dedicated space can excel to. I have always loved your set-up(s) and it is nice to see you start your own HT thread!

Lol at the risk of making myself look stupid, I thought your first set of pics was the main set-up. Then when I got to the main set up, it was more like this . That is quite possibly the most amazing and clean set up I have seen so far. Great job.

Thanks Fors, I hope i still can add some more stuff to make it a little better!
I am always on the hunt and try to come up with new projects for my HT but it gets harder every time a project is completed. What else is possible besides upgrading the gear?

Hi Ben, I use the emotiva UPA-1 to power my two center channels. It has two sets of binding posts for biwiring. I use the second set for the second channel!
Yesterday, i disconnected one of them, just for an experiment, and it just did not sound right. That was actually the reason why i got a second center a few months back. I assume that for my setup, the center speaker is not strong enough! As soon as i hooked it back up, i could tell instantly an improvement.

Thanks man, at least you got that far down. Some people probably don't make it all the way down and click away after the first couple pictures!

awesome home theaters, man.

you really have a great eye for what goes together and how to set it up so it's as pleasing to the eye as i'm sure it is to the ear.

and i, too, was like darkpoet. i thought the first pics were of your actual "theater". then i scrolled down and knew that was just looking at your "small" setup.

i'd love to have what you have in your living room. that would satisfy me for a long while.

i'll definitely be checking out this thread and your other pics on a more consistent basis.

very well done.
