sony ps3? - Blu-ray Forum

i know there's a software update for the ps3 but i don't have a connection too the internet.i'm planning on getting the game stranglehold when it comes out and i heard that new games always have the updates on them. can anyone tell me if this is true?

Some games have updates, if its an online playable game. But you might wanna get an internet connection to your PS3, because they do have online updates that you will need to play certain games in the future.

You have no Internet access even from a PC? No USB flash drive, CompactFlash, CD-R, etc?

You can update using your PC with a USB media storage device, or a memory card. This is how I normally update my PS3. I have a DSL at home it is usually slower and my computer at work that is on a broadband cable internet. It is alot faster to do it this way IMO.
