I figured this section would suffice for my question but please move it to a better category if needed.
I plan to upgrade to a Dell Zino in the coming months and remove my Xbox360 as a Media Extender in my system. For those running WMC and streaming Netflix in HD, how is the quality compared to the Xbox360, or any other Device capable of Streaming Netflix? Please apply experiences with Hulu as well. Thank you |

I stream from my PS3 but before that came netflix ready I did it over my laptop. The quality is comeplty governemd by your internet speed nothing else. Now granted the quality that it is set at has a baring on it to. The best I've seen streaming is like 720P. But like I said determines on your connection speed as well and thats always a huge factor form what i understand.

Thanks for the response. I was curious about the stability of Netflix streaming using media center and had concerns about background processes which may affect the stream from a performance standpoint rather than the connection speed. Ill probably end up installing a clean copy of Windows 7 to get rid of any bloatware.
Thanks!! |

As as stabilty is concerned I'd say form the little bit of experience I've had with it it would be like streaming anything else on your computer. Um as far as Netflix. I'd say is like that as well. But again it is really determined by your connection speed. I rememebr the few times I did stream it would always take a minute or two to determine my connection speed and then form that let me know if I could or not and such. I hope i've helped lit bit.

This is a new post about netflix, not a reply. Can any of you experts out there suggest a step-by-step procedure on how get netflix working on my 1600? What I have:
sharp tv blu-ray 1600 firmware 2.01 on stick samsung wis09abgn2 What I have done so far: tv on, blu-ray on, firmware stick in, samsung adapter in, dvd door open. blu-ray menu selected, selected setup, network which shows wireless, ntp server on, tried network connection testing several times, just hangs and times out. Tried doing system update under flash stick selection, it hangs. Initially I don't even get the samsung screen that shows netflix and other choices. Spoke to samsung help, they state I have to have an ethernet connection from player to modem which can't be done because of impossible locations of the two. I use satellite, wireless box sends out internet signals to pc and laptop. ?'s are: doesn't the adapter pick up the signal as if the player was a laptop etc? is this a provider issue that the modem has to be reset or whatever they do? Sorry about long tale, if anybody can steer me in the right direction it sure would be appreciated. |
