"City of God" US release? - Blu-ray Forum

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about there being a release of "City of God" in the US that will be coming out sometime in the near future. With all of the Miramax titles being released by Lionsgate and Echo Bridge, I thought it might be getting released sometime soon.

However, I'm thinking about just going with the Canadian Alliance release at this time, just in case it's released by Echo Bridge in the US (I doubt EB would provide a quality release with all of the current issues being discussed). I've been waiting for it to get a legit US blu release for the past couple of years, but haven't had any luck. But if Lionsgate releases it sometime by the end of the year, I'll wait a little longer.

I have the Alliance version. It is a great BD. Very affordable on Amazon CA as well. Highly recommended.

just get the Alliance bd.
it's unlikely to be surpassed imo.

The Alliance release has a great transfer and a really good documentary about the real-life situations in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. Probably won't get a better release.
