I watched for the first time today and loved it. It's one of those movies that would be a must have for Blu-ray. There hasn't even been a special edition dvd of it, so it's about time they should let it come to Blu-ray. Please let it happen Disney!

I like that one as well, but wouldn't hold my breath for it on Blu-ray. Like you said, it was neglected even on dvd.

I had the DVD but traded it . . . the non-anamorphic transfer was pretty awful. This ione that I wouldn't think twice about buying. One of my favorite movies when I was younger, and it still stands up rather well today. And Disney to boot, so if it does come out, it should be a stunner.

I think I saw this 3 times in the theaters.

The VFX was still ol' school (puppet against blue screen) but the entire package was exhilarating. The Alan Silvestri score helped a lot.

IIRC, the movie came out within a year of utterly atmosphere-free "Indy/Last Crusade", and some of us fans were saying "We know which movie is the REAL 40's-adventure 'Raiders' sequel!"

(Still, though--Disney DVD's circa 1999 weren't pretty.
The title's not high on Disney's "early adopter" list for Blu-ray, as long as they've got Pirates and Bruckheimer, but it sure wouldn't look bad.)
