Default Silver Surfer & Galactus movie?

The fantastic Four movies are great..they are the closest of the Marvel films to the original source: The comics.
No one changed anything about it, the story, the designs, the powers. Everyone looks like they should be. I want to see the third one already. Any word on this?

However, the silver surfer is better than any fantastic four and I can't wait to see his movie. For that was the best part of the 2nd film. Who's with me?

You do know Galactus isn't a big cloud in the comics

As for the 3rd Fantastic 4, aparantly it will be a reboot, but no one is sure if the orginal cast will be returning. I think they picked a director but I can't remeber who it was (I have little care for the Fantastic 4 films, they annoying and overly campy, and I like camp)

Silver Surfer movie, there were whispers of that around when Fantastic 4 2 came out, but it never really solidfied into anything really.

Last I heard, weren't they going to reboot the "Fantastic 4" franchise?

Yes I know all about Galactus. He's not a giant cloud..but I think that in the film he was not appearing as he really was...he was doing his doing from another dimension.

Now you bring up the campy stuff. Have you ever read a classic marvel comic book? They are supposed to be for children, fun and stupid. I have all reprints of the amazing spiderman and read most of the original xmen books too. As well as others. there is nothing wrong with positive, fun films.

the movies were done right..with the designs intact, the characters equal to the books. why is it that some people want tuff, menacing crazy superheroes all the time? I know that drama sells best..but thats just unrealistic.

That's what I love about the original batman tv show. the campness..they aren't supposed to take theirselves seriously. they are a part of us that play role being someone else.

now if what you say it's true, that they will reboot it..then i'm frucking done with the films. Might as well just watch the cartoons. A reboot is unessesary.

I don't think they are bad films, I get why they are campy, but they are supposed to be taken seriously and I just can't. Whenever they pull a goofy joke it feels like it's pandering to a lower audience. I love the old Batman shows as well, but like you said, it isn't supposed to be taken seriously, the acting is hammy, while in Fantastic 4 they are just bad actors.

I think they also said that the reboot is going to be darker that sounds like a bad move.

Darker.

I guess every superhero movie now has to be darker to please the young angry generation. I remember when superheroes were fun. Spiderman would say a joke on every page in the comics. He was a wiseass.

Superheroes have a sense of humor..that's what people don't get.

I suppose they are going to give all of the Fantastic four shotguns, black suits and distorted memories of the past. Maybe The torch will burn some school kids and laugh about it.

One of the things that really bugged me in the first film is when The Thing is walking down the street yelling, there is a woman walking RIGHT behind him very close, as if to stay in camera shot, and even when he turns around and screams, she just gives a quick "oh" look and continues to walk directly behind him. Cracks me up everytime.

Now THAT would be a movie.

Galactus wields the Power Cosmic and can employ it to produce nearly any effect he desires, including the molecular restructuring and transmutation of matter,[58][59][60] the teleportation of objects — even an entire galaxy[61] — across space [62] or time,[63] size-alteration,[61] the projection of energy with indeterminable destructive force,[64] the erection of nearly impenetrable force fields,[58] the creation of interdimensional[65] and intra-dimensional portals,[66] telepathy,[67] telekinesis,[68] pyrokinesis,[69], a form of cosmic awareness.[70]

Galactus in the film was not galactus...it was his manipulation of the space and time and molecular galaxy...he controls all of that...from far away.

The fact that they were holding back the reveal of Galactus in his traditional form for the spin-off. Also the image to the right of the paragraph is kind of relevant as you can make out Galactus' helmet from within the cloud.

Yes, you can make out an outline of Galactus' helmet, which is in the middle of a cosmic cloud which they chose to portray Galactus as. All I'm saying is that the film DIDN'T portray all characters as accurately as the OP says. I understand it would have been difficult to portray a giant purple man as a serious threat, and the reasons behind the changes however. I also think it was a good idea to tone back on Doom's sorcerer ways, which would be hard to fit in with the rest of the film and it's scientific tone (but I stand by my view they miscast him, but I feel the actor did the best with what he had). I too would love to see a sequel to the original two, but unfortunately Fox have to reboot it. They might set up a Silver Surfer / Galactus side movie for the upcoming ones though, now that they are familiar with spin-off films and such for their franchises, with X-Men having at least four films in production as we speak. I'd rather they give up on the Fantastic Four reboot and let it die though. Let the Four return to Marvel, where they can make an excellent movie, and do Doom right, where he might be a big bad villain for the entire Marvel Universe like in so many previous Marvel stories.
