I'ld be curious if this release is region-locked, Ascot Elite could go either way (based on their track record). I also wonder how it compares to the previous Spanish release (that isn't in the database).

Their search engine is trippy. If you go through the 3000 Blu-rays they have listed, you'd be able to find it if it doesn't show in the search. Here's the listing: http://www.grooves-inc.com/product_i...s_id/859321320 The prices slightly change because they convert prices over from Euro to US Dollars. My shopping cart is currently at $56.37 with 4 Blu-rays (5 movies). The Mexican is one of them.

I'm tempted to buy from Grooves Inc and I'm wondering has anyone in the EU (or UK specifically) bought from them?
I see they're in Switzerland which has some tax agreements with the EU. I'm wondering if/what monetary restrictions are in place for importation. Anyone on the ball with this? |

![]() ![]() Got my The Mexican (or "Mexican" as it's been renamed). Region AB for sure. Yeah, it does have content which will cause problems with people who don't have multi-standrd setups but you can still watch the film and go to the menu. The menu should start after the logo/intro (which you can't see) but if it doesn't use my Jedi mind trick The special features may not be accessible of course if you have a caveman home cinema setup (ie all NTSC only) obviously. As for the transfer, a real shock when that worn/grainy Dreamworks logo came up because I thought it would be a reflection of how the film would look -it isn't. There's grain but I'd say it looks good from my first impression. I think they tacked that logo on from a reel of film they found in a skip/dumpster. Very strange to see Universal not linked to this release and I guess that's why there's so many Dreamworks films not on Blu-ray.
