Death Wish saga - Blu-ray Forum

Would anyone like to see all the Death Wish movies be released on Blu-ray. Would you prefer an individual release or a box set that includes all the movies. I have not heard of any planned release of these movies but would love to see them get the Blu-ray treatment someday.

I would love to see all five Death Wish movies on blu. It would be nice as a box set, but Paramount distributed the first one and on DVD MGM released parts II-IV and Lionsgate has V. Now what would be cool is if they ever do come to blu, I would like to see the unrated versions of I & II.

I just netflixed Death Wish 1 and 2 recently, while I enjoy the movies, Bronson is extremely wooden in the films. It's cool to see the old school vigilante movies though. I haven't seen these in 20 yrs.

I would love to get them all on Blu, but the different studio ownership would most likely prevent a boxset.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paramount released the original in 2010.

I'd buy the boxset (not likely) or the individual releases--

the original DEATH WISH is one of my all time favorite movies and I don't
think that Charles Bronson was "wooden" in it-- it was actually one of his
best performances.

None of the sequels were as good but they were all enjoyable (the top
highlight being Bronson mowing down an entire gang with a Gatling
(spelled right?) gun that simply has to be seen to be believed in DEATH
WISH 3

That's not a big time knock on Bronson man,

he just didn't really show any emotion is all. Like I said, I love vigilante movies and I'd pick these up.

that's cool-- I wasn't really taking that as knocking on Bronson. I guess that I'm a fan and have seen most all of his movies-- I felt that his performance in DEATH WISH had more emotion than most-- I agree that he's a "limited"
actor but like Arnold Schwarzeneggar-- I pretty much enjoy everything he
does

I doubt we'll get a boxset. I'd love to at least own the first one. Jeff Goldblum as a punk= classic.

I doubt we'll ever get a boxset that includes Part 1 or 5 but I'd settle for Parts 2-4. Those are my favorites, plus the existing DVD of Part 1 looks pretty decent. Part 5 is entirely forgettable and practically a travesty. 2-4 really need a new release of some kind because those full frame MGM DVDs are garbage! I'd also love to have the unrated cut of Death Wish 2. I've seen the extended footage on YouTube and it's pretty awesome. I see that both Parts 1 and 2 are available for rent in HD on the PSN. I wonder if Part 2 is actually in WS...

IMHO the part of Paul Kersey is better served by emotionless acting. He is a calculating and ruthless executioner, after all.

Individually. I only like the first two films. And the original is by far, the best imo.

1 and 2 were decent but IMO you gotta be nutz to pony up 20 bucks for the same experience you can get for a 5 dollar used DVD.

He's just thread dumping on a movie that isn't even on blu-ray, in a topic that should be in wish-list.

I just rented 1 and 2 on DVD. I can tell you, the quality is crap.

I've been waiting for what seems like forever to get these films on a quality optical release

-- I have the original on dvd but I refused to buy the
sequels since they were released in fullframe

(as has been mentioned)

I agree that the last one was pretty bad but again, I would buy all of them
and would love to see blu releases

I'm uncertain as to whether a blu-ray release of DW2 would be uncut. I suspect that it would be 'R' version only.

I did not mean to offend anyone but we're talking about a collection of at best decent movies. I wouldn't expect to be blown away by any state of the art visuals or explosive sound tracks in any of these movies. So yeah for me the experience is watching the movie. I wouldn't pay 20 bucks to see a slightly upgraded sight or sound experience for an overpriced Blu when I can get virtually the same experience for 5 bucks. I have a fair number of Blu rays and I have no problem getting the money up when I feel it's worth the purchase but for stuff like this no way.

and I thought at least the first 2 sequels were better than "decent"-- they were good, fun action films.
