I recently received 3 Alliance Blu-rays that were all slightly dented, and I returned them for a replacement... but 2 are still very slightly dented, so now I am in the dilemma of either returning them for a full refund or keeping them.
I am leaning towards returning them at the moment. Well, I decided to turn this into a poll to see if others are as crazy as me. ![]() Legend: Very minor dent = only visible under a certain angle of light Major dent = visible under any light condition (a centimetre or larger) Last edited by Leshita; 04-30-2011 at 08:08 PM. |

I haven't received any newly released steelbooks with dents or major damage yet (knock on wood), but if I did, then they would get returned for a replacement.
If however, it were a second hand OOP steelbook (my FS Revenge Of The Fallen for example has 2 small dents in the top front corner by the spine that got there during it's trip in the post from Canada to me), and if the dents were only small and not immediately noticeable, I'd keep it as it would be impossible to get a replacement without paying out more than what is needed. For me, returning a SteelBook for very minor dents is counter productive. First of all, the replacement might be worse. Secondly, most minor dents can easily be worked out by removing the cover and using the back of a spoon

With me it depends on how much I have spent on the steelbook. If I pay only what it would cost to buy the blu ray I do not worry to much about minor defects. The only way that I can justify spending more than blu ray price for a steelbook is that I may be able to sell it down the line if I decide to, so I am more careful about defects. I have seen hundreds of steelbooks since I started collecting and I do believe that if given some time you can find some defect on just about any opened steelbook. Sealed ones probably have them only they are harder to see.
