I have a Denon 2310 set to accept Multi Channel PCM input from by Blu-ray player instead of decoding on the Denon. I do this primarily due to the Denon having issues decoding the audio on the Star Wars BR discs.
I've noticed a few movies showing a 7.1 multi channel track even though it's only supposed to be 5.1. A few examples are Blade Runner and Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt 1. Any Ideas? |

Yes, I do. This is why I'm confused. Keep in mind, I allow the player to decode and send the audio via HDMI Ext In. One movie will display as 5.1 and some will display as 7.1

Denon receivers are not overpriced anyway. So not only were you acting like a child, but you were also blatantly wrong to boot. |

I don't exactly watch Star Wars everyday, so I guess I'll just switch back to bitstreaming and change it when I watch SW. |

It costs well over $100 more for the exact same receiver in terms of power and features from Denon when compared to Onkyo. If you don't think that's overpriced then more than $100 obviously means little to you.

Why do you care? What does it matter in this discussion?

Since you initiated the discussion, because for some baffling reason you had a problem with me saying Denon is overpriced, I was going to ask you the same thing. It's no different than most products from Apple, Sony, and Pioneer.

I used to have an Onkyo, and last year I decided to upgrade to one with HDMI. I considered Onkyo once more, Denon, and a few other. They were all about the same price. I wound up going with the Denon this time. Love it, sounds great with my Klipsch speakers.
They're both good receivers. |
