Real (2013). - Blu-ray Forum

This question concerns Real, a 2013 from Japan directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

I've noticed that the film is available in Japan on blu-ray from Amuse Soft Entertainment in a limited edition steelbook and what could be called a deluxe edition. Here are the direct links to Amazon.

I'm considering importing one or the other into the US, but I need to make sure they're English-friendly. Does anyone know whether Amuse Soft's releases of the film come with English subtitles?

Just a thought here, but there are 99.99% chances that this release won't have any english subs...

CDJapan says there are no subs for any of the Blus, and the DVD definitely doesn't have English subs. I think it's safe to say the Hong Kong Blu is your best bet.

Had to buy this as I love Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Anyone added it to the database yet or shall I?

Watched this the other night and found it to be really great.

Parts of it reminded me of the stunning Kairo and that can never be a bad thing. It's a romantic Sci-Fi story about a couple who communicate through a hi-tech device. They do so as one of them is in a coma.

Saying anymore than that would ruin the story, but it's needless to say that virtual reality and reality bleed together and it leads to a thrilling conclusion involving an

Highly recommend it.

Variety called it "childlike" and "disappointing". Perhaps they should go back to school.
