I hadn't put any thought into how incredibly similar both network's pickups have been. Interesting comparison.

Definitely, haven't seen so many heavily female demographic shows in one season as far as I can ever recall. If that helps some of the new shows succeed than so be it, they are the only who buy things commercials tell them. As a dude, I've never seen a commercial not related to alcohol that made me think I had to have it.

Being female, I think showing chicks skippin over daises or running on the beach in tampon ads is ridiculous.
Oh well, wish that cop show 17th Precinct got picked up. Rather see that than half the ones they have listed. Now that The Shield and The Wire are gone and Chicago Code got cancelled, there's nothing to fill that void in the subgenre. Blue Bloods is good, but not quite on par with those three. Thank goodness for Justified though. |

Like Miami Vice did in the 80's and Homicide: Life on the Street did in the 90's, The Shield set the bar very high for other cop shows to follow in this decade. NYPD Blue was also great, but appeared to become more about who showed their naked ass and how mcuh more Sipowicz could be mentally tortured. But I liked the way they ended the series [Show spoiler] By the way, where is Dennis Franz? ![]() |
