Aside from a subwoofer's size, the biggest headache in placing a subwoofer is the long cable. Just like the rear surround speakers, running a cable across the room or over an open space between the HT equipment and the best placement for the sub can cause practical problems and fights with the WAF.

The Sunfire Universal Subwoofer Wireless Kit has been designed for subwoofer use. They can be used with all subwoofers. Simply connect the transmitter module to the A/V processor with a short coax sub cable and the receiver to your subwoofer with another short coax cable. All you need is a power outlet near the sub and you're ready for plug-and-play bass with the freedom to move the subwoofer to any location in the room. Sunfire suggests a 25 foot maximum distance. You may get better performance if you can ensure a direct line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver. According to Sunfire, you can can connect up to 4 receivers and subwoofers from a single transmitter
