My thoughts exactly. Not even High Def Sound. I can't believe people actually support this crap.

Tech specs may disappoint, however, as Paramount has opted not to support high-resolution audio with 'Shrek the Third,' with the disc including a Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround track (1.5mbps) only.
For the lazy.

The Shrek movies date horribly. Most of the humor is very contemporary and reliant on either bodily functions or referencing something that happened recently

That's what's seperated Pixar from DW and all the other CG monstrosities. Pixar goes for the universal big picture with their movies, while the rest always feel like a kiddee cash-in

Is it just me or is HD DVD using PiP as a gimmick now? It seems like they'll throw anything over the movie just so they can say "We have PiP!" Most of the stuff as described in the description of the Shrek PiP should just be standalone extras, but now you only get it at a specific spot in the film and in a tiny window in the corner. Pass.

Agreed. The first Shrek was original, funny and entertaining. The last two put me to sleep.

36 bucks? I'll pass.

But you gotta love those HD DVD combo discs, they are practically Blu-ray greatest weapon yet.

You do realize that many blu ray titles are listed at $40 - especially Fox titles. Right?

I suppose you will be passing on all those titles also.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Color Banding, how are you this fine day? Oh? You're feeling very lively on the Shrek films? Well that's just splendid. Good thing they included the PiP with the nice burn in logo in the corner instead of letting us watch features on their own and giving us lossless audio. You say you wish they would've done both? All because you want even more Color Banding babies? Oh well that's very sweet..."

I think I'll pass on this one, even if it were on Blu-Ray, I don't think I'd want either of the 2 sequels.

A shame they don't even get TrueHD. Heck the latest reviews of Troy on HD DVD favor the TrueHD track but of course DD+ is good enough for the extremists over at AVS.

Does suck for the actual Home Theater enthusiast (some dual format owners are screwed as well) that have HD DVD. Top Gun, Transformers, Blades of Glory. Yet the copies that made it into the wild of Blade of Glory on blu-ray do have lossless tracks.

Really pathetic, thank you Micro$hita for basterdizing HDM.

to be fair, shrek 1 and 2 were very good (imo)... shrek 1 >>> shrek 2. shrek 3 looked like a pass to me, and i didn't bother seeing it in the theaters.

on the other hand, we admittedly get that lindsay lohan bomb.
