Blu-ray Samurai

I was happy that its releasing in US and was very excited about it but my happiness were short lived as its Region A Locked so my question is that when and if there is a UK release of Amelie in near future like say in two or three months or should I import it from some other country? If I have to import from where should I import? Which version has the best PQ and AQ and Extras?
Please help me on this. |

As others have said go for the Australian one - you won't be disappointed. Not much in the way of extras but it's region-free and PQ is very good.

I wouldn't buy the Oz disc for extras. There's many other DVD releases with abundant content so just make your own ultimate edition like I did.
To answer your questions there's no English subtitles on the extras and I don't see any use for them. The main making of is just a camera behind the head of people and there's no interviewing really. The really great extra is the bloopers by the Amélie character -again no subs but there shouldn't be because it makes it even more charming. Just watch the film and buy a cheapo 2 disc DVD. I have the beautiful French gateau DVD CE tin which is more than enough. Buy the Blu-ray from: http://www.devoteddvd.com.au/shop/pr...ucts_id=54091& or http://moviesplus.com.au/ViewProduct...6-21d95aef230a or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/230647010358 I have tested the disc in AB setups so it'll work no problem however if you have a crappy A setup (ie all NTSC) you'll not normally be able to play the extras, the trailers or intros etc. The main film and menu works fine though. Just use your title button and move through the trailers with FFW/scan or whatever. |

Try ebay Australia - that's where I got mine. If you already have an ebay account it saves a lot of hassle of signing-up to a new (australian) site you're not familiar with.

There doesn't seem to be any info on subtitles though so I don't know whether it's worth ordering. |

The french release has only french subs and remastered/stellar picture quality. Slightly better than the australian. But no english subs ![]() Here is a run down of some BD releases: ![]() L-R : Australian, Italian, Canadian (1st release), Canadian (2nd release), French release, Spanish, German, Dutch |
