Shameless Blu-ray

any of you brits here been watching the new series of shameless, i think this series has finally re-kindled the humour from the older series, because series 4 was not the best, would be good to see a blu ray release, but i doubt this wouldnt happen for sometime yet, have any of you folks from the USA seen this series.

Yeah, I've been watching as I have all the older series.

It has been as good as ever.

Think this belongs in the movie/tv section.

Anyone catch the new series of shameless last night, the last series was a bit of a downer towards the end, but this one seems to be back to the best, still misses kev and veronica, but hopefully channel 4 will start releasing on blu ray, Frank Gallgher is back to his best.

its being released on dvd in may, hopefully they are working on a blu ray version to accompany it.

Thought it was pretty awful to be honest. Too many good cast members have gone and it should have been put to bed after series 3.

So Shameless wasn't brand new this year? When was the last season aired...S3? I never new it was a continuation. I hope I am understanding what I am reading correctly that is has 3 other seasons.

This thread is kinda confusing... I'm pretty sure the US version of Shameless was only on this year. It was originally a UK show which is what they're talking about but it sounds like some are talking about both?

No, this is for the US version which launched just last year on the US premium channel Showtime. The UK version has been on for years. This will just be entering it's second year this January. The first season has not yet been confirmed with a release date.

I was really worried this wasn't going to get a BD release. The 720p versions I've seen on Showtime look great... very well shot series that will look GREAT on BD. Sadly the studios tend to ignore dramas on BD. Glad to see this one buck the trend. It's one of the best shows on TV currently. Macy and Rossum are tremendous. Obviously so is Cusack. Honestly, cheers all around for the entire cast. Everyone is pitch perfectly cast and the writing is just wonderful. The show has a wicked sense of humor.

I'll be buying this one on release date.

Yes! This is a fantastic show. It will probably be released in November just before the new season starts in January.

The UK Series is currently in it's 8th season...

The US Series is currently filming it's 2nd Season...

I have yet to watch the original UK series, but I thought the US remake was fantastic. One of the very few shows I actually watch when it originally broadcasts. I can't wait for the first season release to watch it all over again.

The Showtime version was a remake of a UK TV show.

I can't wait to pick this one up. I didn't see the entire season (since I don't have Showtime), but what I did watch was definitely good enough to warrant a purchase.

You will love the show. I was addicted to it for months, it honestly reminded me of a drawback to the old WB family dramedies, but without a censorship board
