Glad you enjoyed it so much, but I felt the exact opposite. I feel like it was one of the worst films I've seen from 2014. Well, maybe not WORST, but one I enjoyed the least. It was so so boring. I love history, and I love most biopics. But the whole time while watching this film, I was thinking I'd much rather be watching a documentary about MLK.

Day 1. Saw it twice in theaters, really improved the second time. An impressive movie altogether.

I really want to see this. I have a great admiration for Dr. King. After hearing that awful song written for the film at the Oscars tonight, has me greatly doubting it. If they felt the need to produce that garbage, I can only imagine what they have tainted in regards to Dr. King's legacy. I'll hold out hope but man that was an awful listen.

Is that a sad or happy tear? I'm hopeful it has no impact on the subject matter but that song was terrible. Hopefully used during the end credits so I can turn it off immediately after seeing the film.

Um...Chris Pine was one of the most-enthusiastic admirers of the song in the audience.

interestingly the scenes that were complied and shown on the broadcast displayed the same problems/issues I had with how the film was shot and displayed back in on the theatrical DCP files - it maybe was an artistic decision to have the image look gauzy but it cheapened the imagery to me.

If it wasn't supposed to be so serious, I would have found it funny. The time correlation between spoken word and so-called rap is atrocious and carries no rhythm. Awful piece of music. As much as I hate "Everything Is Awesome", it would have been preferable to this.

Lots of people LOVED this film but I'm with you. A ponderous look at MLK. MLK should have been made to look heroic. I blame a lot of this on the director. Like Unbroken, both films just had poor pacing and yes it was boring. Think how great Malcolm X was by Spike Lee.

Compare with Lincoln by Spielberg, this is the difference. He knows how to make a heroic film about a heroic historical person. Lincoln was a fantastic film and should have been best picture.

One more rant, I also thought the song Glory was boring...snore

The song played on the bridge "Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us" now that's a song! Too bad it was already released and was licensed for the movie.

U dont get it.

This is a film about the march on Selma not a make MLK look cool biopic.
Its not a candy coated feelgood project.

Lincoln was manipulative garbage. Selma was awesome. Go home ur drunk.
