Default Quatermass and the Pit released in US?

Was astonished to find Quatermass and the Pit on Blu-ray, but it is only on Blu-ray in the UK. Does anyone know if they will ever release here in the US. The review for the film is awesome and would very much like to add to my collection!

Why does the UK not allow the US to urilize the Blu-ray upgrade for this film and then sell in US? Then the UK could make even more money on their upgrade of the film?

I'm sure if any of the US companies who have already licenced Studio Canal Hammer films wanted QATP then they would.
If you have a Panasonic player you can play the UK disc with the MENU trick

I think Millennium planned to release this to Blu-ray, but apparently their other Hammer Blu-rays didn't sell well.

The company that owned the US rights went bankrupt and not sure if this ties things up for other prospective publishers.

It's also out in Australia.

Yep. I got a decent one for about $75 and I couldn't be happier. I order more blu-rays from UK than the US at this point. Worth every penny.

Und hier ist mein Frage:

Has anybody actually TESTED this UK BD in a US Blu-ray Disc player to see if it will play?

Also, what the heck is the Panasonic menu trick?

Is there any such "trick" for an OPPO 105 BD Player?

Depending on which Panasonic player you have , you'll be able to play Region B titles from several studios including Studio Canal.
It does NOT work on all Panasonic devices.

Let the disc try to load. Once it fails to load wait for the Bluray screen to appear. Then press the MENU key and the disc menu should appear. If a caption appears saying words to the effect that this operation is not allowed wait for that caption to switch off then press MENU. If it still does not work then your device might not be a lucky one.

You'll need to Google for alternative tricks of which there are one or two others.

I don't know of any other brand where locked titles can be played without a modification

Quatermass and the Pit's Australian and German discs WILL NOT play with the Panasonic top menu trick. I don't know if the UK disc is different. I think it was posted about in that dedicated thread.

That would likely be because they are not Studio Canal discs.

I will check the Australian disc myself. I'm sure I have other Shock titles which do play.

Edit - but in this case the Shock disc will not play with the MENU trick although they do at least include a "wrong region" caption- something Studio Canal can't be bothered to do.

What shock titles do you have that will play? I have their first box set, and none of the discs in it play with the top menu trick besides I think Frankenstein Created Woman? It was one of the two that already had US editions.
