Default Blu-bloods - Should they stay or should they go?

I have been up in arms about this topic. And I debated whether I should start a thread or not, but obviously I did!

Let me be clear, this is in no way intended to be a direct insult to any one person. It is directed at the idea of the blu-blood clan, or gang, or whatever you want to call it.

Should they be disbanded?

I do NOT mean they should be banned or removed from the website, but simply disbanding them, meaning removing their blu-bloods signature and all that jazz.
I did not have a problem with it initially, until I saw links from other websites labeled as "blu-ray.com starts gang". It is an embarrasment in my opinion and I was wondering what others views were.

I do not intend this thread to be a discussion about banning specific members or creating a heated argument over it. Simply answer the poll with either of the two responses.

Thank you.

This is going to be locked soon, but I agree with you. That thread on eProductWars was embarassing to us all.

Cool

M'eh. I could be inclined to change our title to "blu-blooded" which is more indicative of the eliteness I want to convey. Otherwise, I have said my piece over and over. Many of the blu-bloods have already disbanned. Only a select few get it and have remained on as elite do gooders. That is, after we had our fun with the "300" theme. Yes, it was all a gag! Geeze.

While I am sure this thread will receive lots of attention, I'll say my piece one last time. People calling us a gang does not make it so. It was all tongue in cheek fun, but some took it too far and WAY too serious.

I made an error in judgement and cleaned MY OWN MESS with my change of venue thread. I can apologize just so many times before the words become meaningless. Either you can believe me, or insist I must be an evil person out to destroy this site via covert operations. Yes, Toshiba must have paid me off.

So, attack me if you like. Short of a moderator telling me to remove the signature, thereby infinging on my freedom of speech, I'm going to ignore all the negative attacks. This is just one forum in the world wide web of one billion pages. We had a bad start, I want to turn it around but some of you refuse to see it that way. Perception isn't always reality folks. Especially when it comes to us.

So, to my remaining blu-bloods, don't argue, stay elite, and don't fall for the FUD. I would even urge you not to respond here. We are above that. Sooner or later people should see that. If you want to quit, I can't stop you. Neither can I stop new members from wanting to be elite preachers of blu-ray. Thank you for your time.

This is a privately owned website, the administrators can make any rule they want.

Apology accepted.

I think a name change would help, but it would have to be something completely different.

My point exactly! Not your fault! But the damage is done.

A name change would be a good compromise.

What about the Elite Blu, or the Blu-Supremacy?

Why not blu-lagoon while we are at it?
Was thinking of the change Shayes made to his signature. "Blu-blooded Americans". I know, you guys have a problem with the whole "blood" word. But I am trying to salvage the name. :-p

I am not opposed to a name a lot more people are cool with if it means more membership, as long as I can remain the founder.

Something like... blu-xxxx (Formerly blu-bloods.) Something to think about.

I know you guys were just having fun, but why not just be members of bluray.com? I was even caught up in it, thinking up names--then quickly realizing how silly it all was.

we're 10000 strong! United we stand, divided we--get made fun of

I am with him. I've said this before and I'll say it again. We're all here for the EXACT same reasons... There is absolutely NO reason for some "elite do gooders".

Could no longer find any distinct benefit to being a Blu-Blood. A lot of the principles I was hoping it stands for should be something all members have in common.

And I realized that you really can't call yourself "elite". That's like bragging about being humble, it just doesn't work.

So the signature is no longer there. It was just getting silly, and I didn't want to lable myslef elite. I stand for some principles (like are still listed in my sig), but I can follow these as a member, as we all should do.

I think we already have the elite do-gooders...those in the 200+BD owner thread.

Why does anyone need to have "eliteness"? The whole "Blu-blood" philosophy is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. This is a website . . . about movies on a disc. So, it's the elite of a fraction of a fraction of the population. You ever notice the smart kids were always on the fringe of everything, while the morons were always the ones in the gangs and cliques? Well . . . there ya go. What an achievement

I say they need to go.

Thumbs up

I really didn't want to see it go the snobbery way. I was hoping that we could find some good debaters, that were going to go to war against the HD DVD Acolites, that are sprouting up, mostly from AVS. Their constant bullshitting and lying needs to be challenged and not just by a few. We need to gang tackle some of their mouth pieces that have nothing better to do, but litter up the HDM sites. Lord, I've tried to fight back against these clowns lately, taking suspensions and demerit strikes. I could really use some help, in this jihad versus the infidals from the other side. We don't have enough warriors and I had hoped that the Blu Bloods would have become a cohesive team of debaters. Now is the time for all good Blu Bloods to come to the fore and fight some more!
