Default Car is totalled..... Great start to a weekend

Well the car Ive had for 12 years ( ol rusty but trusty ) has been murdered... The car Ive been through it all in, will hold on to many memories... 6 Deer hits, many girlfriends and good times, and my Stereo car that I have beat in since '99 has come to a haulting end.. Literally

I was going through an intersection ( green light ) She was coming from my right, blew the red light and I T-Boned her.. she was in a minivan, and I was doing about 30.. Just got out of the hospital and got some meds now just gonna pass the fawk out

Ouch sorry to see that. Insurance is probably going to total the car huh.. The good news is you're ok. Cars can be replaced, you on the other hand cannot.

Be grateful you survived the accident. Look on the bright side, you get to shop for a new car to drive.

Thanks guys, I do kinda like car shopping tho.. weird huh

Just a few pulled muscles, neck strain, and a few cuts on the head..

I know its just a crappy old Grand am, but the sentimental value is irreplaceable.. Heck , I was 19 when I got that car, thats alot of good years and memories right there

Looks like some after market "tweaks" under the hood. Is that some high performance air filter from AutoZone?

damn! sucks to hear ComaToast but at least you weren't seriously hurt

always sucks saying goodbye to a car you've had for a long time (you got it at 19, was it your first car?) and sucks even worse when some distracted mini-van driving ****** ends your cars life by being a typical $h*tty driver

but, a few weeks ago i saw you started a thread that said you had 10K to spend on getting a muscle car so you should at least be able to pick yourself up something, right?

If the other driver was at fault (which appears to be the case), it depends on how much her insurer is willing to reimburse you for your vehicle. The assessed value on a '99 Grand Am (depending on model and condition) starts at just ~$2200, and I would think that an upgrade to a year 2000+ vehicle is certainly attainable. The important thing is that you were able to walk away from this; cars can always be replaced. Good luck on your search for a replacement vehicle.

Thanks man, this one was a 96 tho.. And I know they book low.. I dont know how this whole process works, since I specifically have that car for my job ( delivering ) .. I cant drive my other car ( supercharged Bonneville ) just for the fact it will double how much gas I use and its more of a summer/project car.. Always has been, while the grand am is for delivering/mileage

going off my own experience when i had my accident a couple years ago.....don't be too quick to settle w/the other chicks insurance company.

they don't give a sh!t about u or your car.....they care about shelling out as little as possible.

good luck w/everything.....it was such a headache when i went through it.

it's up to u if u think u need a lawyer. i didn't get one but it was just a fender bender. it was obvious the other person was @ fault in my accident.

come to find out when i agreed on a # w/the other ins. company for the settlement....it was 75% of what they could've given me....but the douche i was talking with told me it was all he could do.....lyin' basterd!!!

just make sure the other insurance covers ALL of your costs....medical bills, total cost for the car, towing, "pain and suffering"....EVERYTHING.

your insurance should not pay a thing if the other person is @ fault and they have insurance.

if they are jerking u around, then i'd maybe look into a lawyer...but again, it's up to u if u feel u need one. good luck w/everything man!!
