They took way too many liberties with the cannon of the story for my liking.

Sweet! Harmelss goofy fun. I wanted to import that steelbook release that... one of the euro countries (?) got. But it was region compatible so I didnt. I'll take a regular release for sure though.

I heard it was pretty enjoyable for the most part. Still would like to own it eventually. And I also want to own KoF. I know...it's apparently bad, but I don't care. I enjoy the series so wouldn't mind at least owning it. Whenever it comes out.

I think a lot of people missed it. It was actually 1st shown in November 2009! Then it got a full release in Japan early 2010. Never got a cinema release in the UK, dont think it got a wide release in the states either. So you would only have seen it after a bit of searching online.

Its only made $967,369 in the time its been out and it had a budget of $35 million lol.

I actually watched it last year, and as a fan of the games I found it hard to watch. The acting is as cheesey as it gets and the changes they made to the cannon of the games story just took away all credibility.

Of course thats just my opinion. One of my friends who has never played the games watched it and thought it was an ok action flick. But nothing special.

Agreed. The '98 OVA was pretty damn good. Much better than this. :/

I actually had high hopes when I first heard they were making Tekken into a film. Jackie Chan should have been an obvious choice as Lee is based on Jackies charecter in the Police Story films. All I can say is this film could have been sooo much more.

Quote:
Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken video game series, panned the film. “That Hollywood movie is terrible,” he tweeted. “We were not able to supervise that movie; it was a cruel contract. I’m not interested in that movie.”

I seen the dvd version awhile ago and i must say i was quite surprised and entertained with this. I always seem to give flicks based on game properties a chance, and although most are quite silly with bad presentation this one came out alright.

If your looking for a simple martial arts tournament style movie you can do a lot worst than this, its actually made quite respectfully. The direction, photography and story are decent, the brim future outlook was presented quite well, even the acting is above par.

I saw this at the same time as the King of fighters movie and that film left a lot to be desired, quite abysmal. So i will definently be checking this one out once it drops, hiopefully it has some decent extras to boot.
