Endgame is a Canadian drama television series that premiered on the Showcase Television network on Monday, March 14, 2011. The series is developed and produced by Thunderbird Films. The series follows former World Chess Champion Arkady Balagan (Shawn Doyle), a genius who uses his analytical skills to solve crimes without leaving his Vancouver hotel.

Also stars Katherine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps)

I really only know him as Joey Henrickson, Bill Paxton's brother on Big Love, but am fairly familiar with Katherine from numerous projects. The only canadian show I've seen a full season of is Lost Girl. I really wanted to check out that Callum Keithe Rennie "Shattered" series but I must have missed it's run. This could be interesting, if I don't miss it to, lol.

First two eps are out. Get them where I get them.

I've seen Isabelle in a lot of stuff where she's guest starring on shows. Mainly I know her from the Ginger Snaps series.

The 1st episode is pretty good. Lots of humor in it, although it does an annoying trick that I've seen in other shows where the guy will, while trying to figure out what happened, he'll project himself into the scenario where the person disappeared or got murdered or whatever. One cute little twist on that though, is he interacts with the people in various "could it have been THIS way? or THAT way?"

Also I think it's an interesting thing involving WHY he never leaves the hotel.

I haven't seen HIM in anything else that springs to mind, but he looks familiar.

Like I said, I mostly remember him from Big Love, but I do remember him from Frequency, Knockaround Guys and most recently an episode of Terriers.

This is why I almost never give canadian shows a chance, they always have the worst ratings ever and disappear from tv very quickly....

Don't except Endgame back for season 2. In its second episode's first airing its viewers dropped from 230,000 last week to 154,000. It's ratings were already significantly below the only two recent hourlong dramas renewed by Showcase (Lost Girl and Haven).

Of course it does, but I have yet to see more than canadian show not be canceled here.

Perhaps, but there's two factors you should consider.

1. A lot of the programming up there is funded by taxpayers, apparantly. I don't completely understand the system, but I'm sure that factor sin when shows have low ratings.

2. There's a good chance that there's a whole shit load more shows released in America than there are in Canada, so the numbers might not be equal to make that comparison of # of shows that make it from THERE as opposed to HERE.

That may be true, but every canadian show that I've been interested in that is imported down here that I have watched only Lost Girl is returning. I don't know what kind of ratings they need but when I hear of an interesting new canadian show I just don't even start with it cause it will be pulled nearly immediately.

Durham County went three seasons and stopped voluntarily. They're doing a movie now.

Little mosque on the Prairie is almost done with it's 5th season and they'll be doing a 6th from what I read.

Flashpoint is I believe in it's 3rd or 4th season as well.

I never saw Durham or Little Mosque listed on tv here, I thought you downloaded them all. Flashpoint was on CBS here for a while but was canceled aired only in canada and than came back for awhile before being pulled again.

Flashpoint was weird how they did that. They aired them out of order, and split up seasons where they'd have it listed as four seasons, but really three only aired. They included incomplete seasons in their "season 2" or whatever, and part of Season 2 they listed as Season 3 and so on.

I haven't watched ION since they stopped airing The Wonder Years a few years back.

I watched the first 4 episodes yesterday. It's not a bad show, though episode 3 made it very clear that his fiancee isn't actually dead. They went with the old, loved one waves goodbye, lover turns around to walk away, than sudden death! So by the time the gunner came up she was out of the car, and the explosion was obviously to cover it all up. If they hadn't shown her family, I'd have assumed she was a KGB sleeper agent, but that's probably out at this point. Either way it's an enjoyable show, it did take awhile for me to get used to Doyle with the Russian accent though. But Katherine Isabelle has grown up very nicely! YOWZA!

I actually like this. Got a few more episodes left. There's already a facebook page and a petition to get Showcase to reconsider.

Too bad. Good show. hopefully they resolve some of the mystery involving Rosemary's death.
