Default Do the new slim US PS3's still have an internal power supply?

I would like to get one as a region A blu-ray player for myself here in the UK but want to make sure it's going to work still?

I'm from the USA, but am currently using my super slim in Russia. I haven't had any problems. You should only need an outlet adapter to convert the US prong to your UK prong.

It does NOT have a big block in the middle of the power cord if that's what you mean.

The tear downs of the various ps3's have shown that the power brick inside the console supports 110 - 240 VAC. So, even though the ps3 is stamped as 120 VAC for the US model, it really can handle the full range of voltages. Therefore, the power cable doesn't need the big block to step down voltage.

My USA super slim ps3 has been plugged into a 220 VAC Russian outlet for a month now without popping anything (which would have happened pretty soon after plugging it in if it couldn't handle the voltage).

Interesting. Thank you for the explanation.

After reading the new posts in this thread it's clear that I did not fully understand what the OP was asking, and would not have been able to answer his question properly. LOL

Don't worry that was my impression too. The damn 360 block and now the Wii U block are pain in the ass

I know what you mean. I don't have a Wii U, but I used to have a regular Wii, and I do have a 360. You could build a house with a stack of those 360 blocks.
