sony bdp s550 update 024

had a question regarding that update on the system sony s550 blu ray player has anyone noticed a change in it once the update is done, what does it configure in the audio once you put a blu ray dvd disc in , for example before i had the update i had my set up to be direct and i still have it that way, but when a movie would play say for example king kong with jack black, on the bottom of the receiver it would say dolby digital 3/2.1 . and now it says it , but on some movies like hell boy 2 golden army it goes to pcm though its still in the audio format i chose it to be before i started the movie. is that odd somehow, or is that how its is suppose to be ..
