Default Battlefield 4 - Out Now!

UPDATE

Quote:
In addition, the staff also revealed "Battlefield 3" last DLC "finality (End Game)" Some new details:
1. Added four new maps, actually may just be the old map revision.
2 new air war mode, similar to the Armored Fury Battle City / armor advantage mode.
3 new Double prevention and control vehicles and two-wheeled motorcycles and other vehicles.
4. Increase in new jobs and new achievements.
Air Superiority mode has been announced for End Game, which was part of the same rumor post.

This is seemingly real.

So since the below BF4 info was leaked along with BF3 info thats since come true, it's a good bet that the below info is legit.

Lasgana: BF4
Lasgana: Coming October 23rd, 2013
Lasgana: development just started, expected to be done in 1 yr [Nirolak's Note: Since this is the one likely to elicit the most "this is fake" notes, I feel I should elaborate. Given some later points (like already have an internal demo), this seems to refer to EA's normal two year development cycle of a one year pre-production cycle with ~30-40 people and then ballooning up to 150-300 people to make the game after most things are prototyped and planned out. Visceral, BioWare, and a fair number of publishers outside EA also operate this way since it allows you to have multiple projects without cyclical layoffs due to scaling down in pre-production and scaling up in production. For example, during the downtime between Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, DICE's spare staff worked on making Medal of Honor's multiplayer and helping to build Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. As to what the bulk of DICE's staff worked on prior to this going into production, it's probably either a second project or, once again, other EA games.]
Lasgana: will be on pc, ps3, xbox360 and next gen consoles
Lasgana: will be one of the first games for next gen consoles
Lasgana: commander system comes back
Lasgana: profile can be linked with other devices like ipad
Lasgana: auto login, need internet all time, support cloud saves
Lasgana: easier to pickup the game, to take care of players from CoD
Lasgana: support body and voice control for this commander system
Lasgana: better battlelog integration and better stats reporting
Lasgana: supports video playback and sharing
Lasgana: have gem store for dlc and other stuff like that
Lasgana: 3 factions: russia, usa and china
Lasgana: can deploy female soliders
Lasgana: frostbite 2.0 engine
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and xbox 720 supports 64 player maps
Lasgana: 360 and ps3 will be less
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and 720 will provide 60 fps
Lasgana: already have a demo video internally within EA,
Lasgana: matching the quality of BF3 already
Lasgana: bf4 will use 80% of power of frostbite 2, wheras bf3 only 30-40%
Lasgana: modern background
Lasgana: i mean story background

Pre-Order Medal of Honor: Warfighter to gain access to Battlefield 4 Beta, reads a banner on EA’s Origin client. Under the Shooter category in the client, the banner appeared earlier today.

You may recall that the first print of the last Medal of Honor game, the “limited edition” as it was dubbed, included tokens for access to the Battlefield 3 beta. Further, since Medal of Honor: Warfighter will have the same incentive for Battlefield 4, the next game in the Battlefield franchise may release next year. It would be far fetched for EA to include beta codes in Warfighter for a game that’s more than one year out.

Interestingly, the Battlefield 4 Beta banner shows the Digital Deluxe edition, as it’s priced at $69.99, the limited first print edition will run you $59.99. Beta access could be only part of the deluxe edition, but that possibility seems unlikely based on EA’s track record.

Update: The banner has been taken down and replaced with a Battlefield 3 Premium banner.

So BF3 will be supported until March 2013 at least. Then this will probably land in Fall '13...New consoles are right around the corner if not on the market already...

Unless this is a next gen launch title I will most likely pass.

I'm not ready yet. There's still so much to do in Battlefield 3. If a new one comes out, I'll never be able to touch my other games.

I guess you're right

I see it as a 2 year cycle just like COD, except they call the other game Medal of Honor

I'd rather they release a Bad Company 3 instead.

Battlefield 4 Leak Premeditated by EA, YouTuber Freddie Wong Infiltrates EA Headquarters

It was only a few days ago that we spotted a pretty darn big Battlefield 4 leak on EA’s Origin client, stating that access to a Battlefield 4 Beta would come with every pre-order of Medal of Honor: Warfighter Digital Deluxe Edition.

Like us, you might be wondering, how exactly did such a leak happen?

Well, leave it to pesky YouTubers like Freddie Wong to pre-maturely leak confidential information upon infiltrating the EA headquarters in Los Angeles. Check out how he accomplished his mission below.

In all seriousness, it looks like the Battlefield 4 beta access leak was, in fact, premeditated by EA as a marketing campaign to build hype for the the official announcement which made its way to headlines today.

I kind of agree. If DICE have to make a shooter, I'd rather it be another entry into the Bad Company series.

That said, I'd much rather them make another Mirror's Edge more than anything else.

Yes! I agree. I loved Mirror's Edge and can't wait until a new one(if there will be a new one) comes. The market has been over-saturated with shooters for quite awhile now.

Battlefield 4 – Fan Requested Features Recognized, Pacing Concerns Addressed and More Ways to Access Beta

EA Community Manager Ian Tornay details some of the key featured the DICE team will be focusing on throughout the development of the recently announced Battlefield 4 and addresses concerns of the pacing of major Battlefield releases.

In case you haven’t heard, Battlefield 4 is official and there will be a beta for it next Fall (2013) with every pre-order of the limited or deluxe edition of Danger Close’s upcoming FPS title, Medal of Honor: Warfighter. This is not to say it will be the only way to gain access to the beta as Tornay also mentioned “there will be other ways to get into the beta aside from MoH Warfighter. At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry.”

Other than these details, little is known about the next entry to the Battlefield series and we are not expecting to hear anything until this November or later, after the release of Warfighter, according to this Origin product page. (Later removed. Cached version below. Make of this what you will.)

If you’ve been able to catch any of the reaction to the official Battlefield 4 announcement, you’ll most likely have heard phrases like, “it’s way too soon!” A reaction that many gamers currently share. Tornay addresses these concerns via a recent Reddit post:

Quote:
We’ve been seeing a lot of concerns about the pacing of release (i.e. “only” two years after BF3). I think it’s worth noting that DICE has released a Battlefield game every two years or sooner AND Mirror’s Edge at least every two years. I truly believe that we’re in one of the best positions to be creating our next title – Frostbite 2 has matured, we’ve been gathering fan feedback like crazy, Battlefield 3 continues to expand with features which we can learn from, and we’ve got more data about how people play than ever.
He also lists the key features that members of DICE “recognize that there is a serious desire for, including but not exclusive to”:

  • A better VOIP solution
  • Battle Recorder
  • Spectator Mode
  • More robust eSports support

I wonder if it'll be Frostbite 2.5 or 3.0

For those who are only interested in Medal of Honor due to the beta access, DICE has just released the following statment.

"There will be other ways to get into the beta aside from MoH Warfighter. At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry," Battlefield 3 community manager Ian Tornay stated on Reddit

Sounds like 2.5
