You should read the latest issue of HMR, particularly concerning the format war. Basically the articles have a "Paramount screwed Hollywood" tinge.

Also that one indy studio said (in HMR) that before the Paramount thing they had decided on releasing on Blu-ray. Afterwards they hesitated but are now still "99%" certain they will release on Blu-ray. All that for only 1% of certainty.

I think the HD DVD talking point that I find most irritating is the ridiculous contention that the format war is not deterring wider adoption.
