I heard about this on NPR when driving home today, and almost had a wreck because I was laughing so hard. It's just something you don't hear everyday on the radio..."and now here's a special report about the Seattle SlutWalk."

I definitely agree. That is certainly not what I thought the 'SlutWalk' would be protesting. Seems counter productive.

I don't think the name is bad if you know where it comes from... A cop was in a school not far from here and told girls not to dress like sluts if they dont want to get raped.

This slutwalk has already been and gone here in Australia a month or 2 ago. Just a bunch typical feminists that misinterpreted something the wrong way. I certainly don't condone rape in anyway, but the truth is there are sick people in this world, and to take the attitude of "that's not my problem I should be able to wear whatever I want" can be a big risk to take as it can unfortunately encourage the sick animals out there who do rape woman. No women brings it apon herself to be raped but at times maybe some should be more senceable as to what they wear as the predators exist whether we like it or not, so if a little more common sence was used then some attacks might have been prevented.

It's the same with pedophiles, we all know they exist and are out there, and any senceable parent try's to teach their kids ways to prevent anything from ever happening to them. It would be a bit stupid of a parent to ignore the risks when it comes to their kids, so why do so many women have a different opinion about this issue and ignore the risks involved.

It's a myth that what a woman wears has anything to do with attracting rapists. It's something that people like to believe so that they can have a sense that they have the ability to prevent this from happening to them or their loved ones if they just dress and act sensibly. It's simply not true at all. That's what these women are trying to highlight.... the ignorance behind that myth. Implying that what a woman wears has anything to do with the pathologically violent nature of a rapist is like saying that an 82 yr old rape victim was dressed too sluttily... and she should have known better.
