Default Some Blockbusters doing their part...

A couple weeks ago I was at the Blockbuster by my parent's house and noticed they are doing some serious Blu-Ray promotion unlike the Blockbuster by my house (and I just happened to have my camera on me. Note: This Blockbuster is one the largest BB in Illinois square footage wise).

The one by my house doesn't even have Blu-Rays available yet. And when I ask I always get a dumbfounded answer.

That's cool! I hope the staff at that BB are educated on Blu-ray as I'm sure it will generate a lot of questions from renters.

I thought my pretty pictures would of stirred up more excitement with Blockbuster

Anyone else have a BB near you that is backing blu as much as this one?

Damn, talk about a lag in the roll-out company wide. My local (preferred) store has had Blu-rays for almost three months now. I hope your area gets some soon as well.

Menomonee Falls, WI has a good rollout of Blu-Ray inside. Not sure if they have put the Blu-Ray promos in the front windows. I will check this weekend, was thinking of renting a couple Blu-rays from them.

I don't rent, so I don't know what type of presence BD has in BB here in SD.

This is corporate merchandising in every location carrying Blu, nothing special about it

I didn't expect the BB employees to bust out crayons and make custom, more friendly, Blu-Ray signage.

I thought it was somewhat special because there's TWO GIANT signs right next to the main entrance promoting that blu is the future.

Sorry for taking the time to take pictures and sharing!!!

We have to keep in mind that the majority of Blockbuster's (and rental places in general) business comes from renting new releases, so that fact that every store has a small section of Blu-rays which are mostly catalog titles doesn't help that much in the acceptance of Blu-ray as a viable format for day and date releases just yet. It'll take years for that to start happening on a regular basis. Right now only the real curious and die hard Blu-ray supporters rent them.
