Foreign thriller/crime movie recommendations

I loved the movie "Tell No One" which I now hear is being made into US version.
I also enjoyed the first Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Other foreign movies I liked were Run Lola Run and The Hard Word and District B13
And I adored the heart and soul in the movie Pan's Labyrinth
And while not foreign, was an independent film made in Spain - The Machinist
An older one is Brotherhood of the Wolf - loved the action and suspense in this film also. I am a Jackie Chan fan so the action was my favorite.
And enjoyed the slow unraveling and ending payoff of - The Ghost Writer

I generally do not seek out foreign films and find some very boring, but try to catch the ones that get high recommendations. Its great seeing a film without the hollywood hype/explosions/fast camera/etc and rather relying on great story and acting. These films also seem to be more adult oriented and R rated. I hate how Hollywood is aiming now to make everything PG13. I mean an Alien Ridley Scott movie in PG13 - yikes

I tend to like the thriller/action films as you can tell from the above. So looking to see if forum members can give me some good recommendations on foreign thriller/crime movies. I hear that the french film 36th Precinct is a good cop story and well done. And also Revanche.
