Default Underworld Vs. Knocked Up/Next

I was wondering...Underworld is a pretty big title although it is years old. It definitely is more popular than Next and Knocked Up. Wouldn't it be great if Underworld can outsell both of these day and date releases. I think it has a great chance to beat these two red exclusives. Just my opinion, thoughts, and hopes...

We've also got all these other titles coming out:

Black Book
Tekkonkinkreet
Memoirs of a Geisha
The Wild Bunch
Wyatt Earp
Gods and Generals
Gothika

Personally, Im only getting Underworld and Memoirs of a Geisha. I think those two titles should be sufficient to outsell knocked up and next. Next was not as good as I hoped when I saw it on DVD and Knocked Up looks stupid funny.

UNDERWORLD KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if underwold outsells knocked up. it's a big PS3 crowd type movie. it was one of the most asked about titles where I work, which is walmart. it's a movie that screams high definition. that and comedies don't do well on HD. it will definetely outsell the crapfest which is evan almighty which won't crack the top 25 that week. I love how hd dvd fanboys think evan almighty is something great because it finally crossed the $100 million mark. only took it 3 months. pathetic.

It will outsell both of these titles. Underworld is Huge! Don't forget, BD outsells HD DVD 2 to 1 to begin with. Sure would hate to be in their camp with no Underworld on HD.

You guys are nuts. There aren't many bigger supporters of Blu Ray beyond me and I will tell you there is 0% chance underworld outsells Knocked up or Next. It's not often catalog titles even make it in the top 10 unless they are huge titles. Underworld is not a huge title despite some of our personal interests.

Underworld may out sell Knocked Up in HD-DVD but the numbers won't be light years apart. Knocked up standard def + HD-DVD should outsell Underworld on blu easily. They're both great films though.

Again, Blu feelings aside, look at blades of glorys sales. Hi Def sales on both sides are fueled by Day and Date. I wish people would look at things objectively.

I guess I could see it outselling Next . . . I don't recall it doing very well in theaters, and it looked pretty lame. Knocked Up . . . eh, I think I'd rather have Knocked Up than Underworld (although I'll probably still be picking it up). Knocked Up did very well in theatres and had a lot of positive word of mouth. I think it'll be a definite for those who have seen it and a big blind-buyer for those who haven't.

No Blu feelings anywhere in this...Underworld has a pretty good following and also the unrated version was not the version in theaters...the theatrical version was not as good as the unrated version.

However, as someone said there are other films out there. Gods and Generals should bring in the history buff's interest that week. I have a cousin (female) who can't stand things like Underworld, etc, but she is always borrowing my SD version of Gods and Generals. And with a few reviewers giving Black Book such high ratings, I know a bunch of people who would like to test their theory out.

With the combination of Tekkonkinkreet and Underworld unrated it will for sure pass the sales of Next and Knocked Up on hd-dvd because both of those movies sucked

Negative. It's Paramount. Amazon.ca will update this on release day as they did with BOG.

Come on guys. This is why people at AVS give us blu boys no respect. It's comments like this that make us lose credibiiltiy. Knocked Up is a huge hit with great word of mouth that is coming out day and date. It is going to slaughter a catalog title and movie that most people have never heard of. As i said earlier, unfortunately for us I beleive Next will outsell them as well. Day and Date is where the money is. That is why Blu will dominate the rest of the year.
