Default Does this happen to anyone else?

I frequently ask friends to come and watch a movie in my home theater. The answers I usually get is well maybe,I will half to check with my wife,or my fav I just don't have time.Still I bet if I told them I had tickets for the local theater they would take them and break their neck getting there. If it was'nt for my second oldest nefew who comes and watches the new releases with me on Tuesday nights,I guess I would never have anybody over.Just curious if this happens to other people.

On occasion I'd get the same response.

Having an overhead projector with a 108" diagonal picture and all that stuff, some people were excited at first to come over but then it wasn't at the top of the priority list.

Some of it could be a 'you're showing off what you have and I don't' thing and for others it could be nothing more than they don't have the passion for watching movies like you do (home theater or not).

No, I get the opposite. People ask when can they come over. alot of the times, everyone has different times they want to come over.

I did have movie night, but my problem with that was, I wanted it too late.

Default My home theater

I built my home theater for me to enjoy, I like having company over to share the experience but ultimately i enjoy it with or without company, besides I can listen to the volume louder when I'm by myself.

I couldn't agree more with you. I mean most the time it is one of my boys and there wife and kids over watching movies. But I just can't listen to it like the wife and I like to.
