Disney Dark Water (2005)

Disney does another fantastic BD. The movie is also pretty good.

Exclamation EXTREME NECROTHREADING!i!

Jennifer Connelly looks hot in a 'dark water-gray' sweatshirt in this! Worth the upgrade just for this.

The extras are what bothered me about this blu-ray. Was it really so hard for Disney to port over all of the special features instead of a handful? We lose the documentary and the unrated edition, even if the changes were pretty minor.

If you have the DVD, make it into a blu-ray combo pack, then you will have both.

This thread needed more discussion. Pretty solid remake.

As a big fan of J-horror, these remakes were always a hit or miss with me. The Ring is excellent, it goes without saying. The sequels not so much. The Grudge is probably second best, but once again, mediocre sequels. Dark Water is probably on par with The Grudge. Pulse was absolutely terrible, and One Missed Call is easily the worst. One of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I don't actually. And now that I own the blu-ray, I don't feel the need to buy it. I can live without the extras that are missing but it's just a little annoying.

Film aficionados will freak, but I saw this remake before the original and really dug it, especially a great performance from Jennifer Connelly. Obviously I went and saw the original, which is great too. Still though...I think I have a thing for Jennifer Connelly. Now if they will just release House of Sand and Fog.

So did I. This remake is what introduced me to the original which I ended up liking so much more. It's just so much creepier. Yes, we need a House of Sand and Fog blu-ray, it's way overdue.

Being a 2006 release, they may not have been able yet here to do the 1080p screenshots. So, they're probably dvd. Even the 4k screenshots took a while to be done.

old reviews used smaller screenshots, so that's why they're stretched

They look pretty bad even for a DVD and would serve little purpose on a blu ray site. I thought the purpose of screenshots was to give you some idea of what the blu ray looks like.

Would have been better to just not have any.
