I introduced myself in the meet & greet...but the rundown is my name is Katherine... i have 3 little boys..7 months, 3 year old and 6 year old. Between taking care of the kids, the house and working on getting my bachelor's degree time is not in high supply but my one relief, thing i love the most is movies....my husband loves music and I love movies

For years i've been telling him how the one thing i definitely want in my house is a home theater...i've probably mentioned it a thousand times but had put it on the backburner thinking it might never happen. Came home with the kids one night and he had drawn out a design for me to have a home theater...was so excited

we are taking our 4th bedroom 12x20 and turning it into mostly a theater and he's going to build a wall w/door to create a smaller room for his music studio and he'll be using a walk-in closet that is there for his studio which is why i'll get a larger chunk of the room.

i'm going back and forth between the epson 3010 and 5010 - there is a large price difference so i just don't know if it's worth it to do the 5010 instead of the 3010....i'm honestly leaning towards the 3010 for the price and we can always upgrade at a later time....wasn't sure if anyone had any experiences with either and had any input?

I'm not sure about what screen yet... i know i want something between 100" and 120"....I've heard alot of people mentioning the Elite Screens?

In my LR hooked up to my 43" plasma i have some bronze monitor audio speakers/center (2 bronze b2's & br-lcr bronze center) from 7 or so years ago so i'm not sure if I should just leave those in the living room and get a whole different set for the theater room or if i should just add on? I didn't know if anyone had any recommendations for speakers?

I have an old Kenwood receiver that i'm leaving in the LR so i'll need to get a new one of those as well.

There is one window in the bedroom which my husband was talking about getting a permit and having it removed/sealed. I sent him some links i found as well for some black ceiling tiles which he would have to build since we have a popcorn type ceiling in there now. Ripping out the old carpet will be one of the 1st things done once i get all my equipmt for the room. There 's a bunch of other stuff I know but as i've seen on here it is quite a process so i'm trying to start off with finding the best set up for the room with the project/screen and speakers/receiver.

Right now i really don't go in this room....it's basically used by my husband to do music stuff, another room for my kids to drag their cars into, video game playing room for my husband (we have an original nintendo, atari, xbox 360) and the little ones and used every 2 months or so when the in-laws come to stay & the unattractive couch you see was given to us because we use it as a sleeper for when my kids cousins come down to visit.

little dark but this is the door way in the bedroom....that drop in the ceiling contains the a/c which my husband said once the wall is up dividing the rooms he will be running in the theater room as well to make sure it is cool in there too

Not sure how he's doing it....not my area...just know that he is.
