Looking for some help/advice.
A workmate of mine lent me Say Anything... the other day and I absolutely loved it, had never seen it before. I now want to add this to my collection and also let my fiance see it as I reckon she would like it too. Its not out on Blu Ray in the UK so it looks like this may be my first ever import. I am a little wary being new to this side of things. After I watched it I looked on the back of the case and it said Region A but played fine in my Sony S570. Looking on places like Amazon.com and a seller on ebay it says Region A locked. However, DVDWorldUSA have a version of it listed as region free: http://www.dvdworldusa.com/shopexd.asp?id=70168 Does this mean no matter where I get it it will be region free? Has anyone used DVDWorldUSA before? Any extra charges ie. import fees etc? Anywhere better to use instead? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. |

Yes sure. Has anyone used DVDWorldUSA before? Yes, they are reliable. Any extra charges ie. import fees etc? Not much, a little. Anywhere better to use instead? DVDworldusa is fine. I can also recommend Amazon or planetaxel or try Ebay UK as its possible that some seller selling it cheap. Whenever u r in doubt just check the planetaxel and dvdworldusa site and believe what they mention about the region. http://www.planetaxel.com/ I have US titles in my collection which are listed on Amazon and by marketplace sellers on Amazon and ebay as Region A Locked but infact they are region free or Region B compatible. So first check here on this site and if still in doubt check the sites I mentioned above. Never trust Ebay and Amazon sellers. For instance last night I ordered "A Matador's Mistress" from Amazon and on Amazon page it says Region 1: USA and Canada only but its Region Free in real as mentioned on this site. I am sure u know that BDs dont have region 1 or 2 and like that, its Region A,B,C so they just copy the info from the DVD version of the movie and if they are unsure they just write it as Region1. Hope this helps. Last edited by kashif; 07-08-2011 at 02:28 AM. |

DVDWorldUSA are good as are http://www.movietyme.comcatalog/ Tiny companies so small problems can be a bit of a hassle but they've been around for a while and deserve support.
You can also get it from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029XFN9Y/ for £14.60 shipped. They charge in UK£. No customs to worry about as long as the item (not postage) is below £18. You might find something else for around $10-$12 if you look. Mind -Cusack fans- Better of Dead is coming to Blu-ray! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00511N76C/ I want my 2 dollars! ![]() |

Just a little thing, I ordered "Red Riding Hood" and "Gnomeo and Juliet" from them on June 16th, posted June 20th and arrived June 25th. Not that bad considering they're American Blu-rays with no customs charges

Was about to start a thrad on importing websites but will just add here.
I tend to use Amazon and Movietyme. Back in my DVD heyday, DVDPacific were great for cheap discs but the company changed hands and isn't good. Can anyone recommend any other sites. Amazon have good prices but the P&P really adds up |

You won't get charged customs from DVDworldUSA. I don't know where they are shipped from but they are immune from customs. I bought The Ten Commandments from them which was £70 and it came without customs charges. That is easily over the customs limit. Mind you, £70 was over the odds in the first place, so its catch 22.

Based in the uk, and sell American blu rays, so you get the title 2 days after ordering it usually. Customer service is great. Can be slightly pricey, but for me, an extra couple of pounds is nothing, as I stress out waiting for the postman day after day for a week and a half, lol. |

I've been using Planetaxel for the past twelve months - best company I've ever used for imports by some distance!
