Any news on when or if Paramount plans to upgrade this classic to blu-ray? For those who have not seen it, The Bridges at Toko-Ri may be the finest naval aviation movie in the jet age. It stars William Holden in what I consider his finest role (his real life brother was an aviator killed in action in WWII), also stars Grace Kelly, Mickey Rooney (also in one of his finest performances), and Earl Holliman (a great supporting actor in several well known classic westerns and on 1970s TV).
I just watched my mediocre DVD again for the first time in years. Wow, even having seen it several times, this is still one powerful film. Last edited by oildude; 12-05-2011 at 03:22 AM. |
