Shout! Factory will be releasing the film Affliction (1997) on Blu-ray on April 16th as part of the Shout Select line.

Excellent, been wanting to see this for a long time. I caved on the digital HD copy a couple of months ago when it was on sale. I'll give it a watch before this comes out!

Day 1. I thought this was still with Lionsgate, but I guess Shout got all of the Largo titles.

Someone mentioned that a lot of the Largo titles are not connected to Warner anymore. Streaming rights have also reverted from WB and are now with Shout as well.

Been waiting on this one for a long time. Easily one of my favorite all time films. Watching Coburn go toe to toe with Nolte is pure bliss. An acting tour de force.

Russell Banks. Paul Schrader. That's double shot of something alright, with a Coburn chaser.

I read that Schrader is adapting something else from Banks.

Looking forward to it, as well as picking this up, but will wait until the affliction sets in for a screening, if you know what I mean.

Then again, maybe not looking forward it.

Glad this is finally getting a release! Hopefully there's a new transfer done for it. The HD I streamed a year or so ago was pretty dated.

Good grief, it’s about time this got released! This is an incredible movie and the novel is as equally gripping. It’s easily Nick Nolte’s best movie.

What a somber character study. One of Schrader's best. I own the DVD but will upgrade.

It's only exciting if it's getting AT LEAST a new 2K scan. The old video-era master isn't worth porting over.

An intense drama. In the upper tier of Schrader films. Glad that it's finally being released. Would also like to see Forever Mine get a Blu-ray at some point.

I've never seen this.... considering the director and the subject matter...

on a scale of 1 to 10... how unpleasant and depressing is this film?
