Default First Steelbook

I just wanted to state that I'm not one that understands the whole slipcover thing. I usually toss them. Well today I purchsed my first steelbook (Scarface) and I have to say I feel I may become addicted to these. Man, I wish all my discs where in cases like these. I think I'm in trouble .

No doubt. It just feels so much more substantial (more than just the whole metal vs. plastic aspect) holding that steelbook. I think it's to late for me now.

My first steelbook was also Scarface. I only have 2 official steelbooks at this time. I must agree that collecting steelbooks is very alluring and I feel that Im hooked. But I must admit that steelbook collection will prob grow slowly as the rest of my collection has.

No kidding, I've never specifically searched for steelbooks on Amazon, etc. The prices are definitely a little more .

I've never cared for cases. Bought a few Steelbooks becasue the Amaray cases weren't available or prices were the same.

This weekend, I picked up a really cool one,
[Show spoiler]
and now think I am hooked.

Also have Psycho, The Plan, The Wolfman, and Gladiator.

Don't make the same mistake I did! I invested too much in steelbooks and had to sell them all later down the road. If you do decide to form a SB collection, don't remove the factory wrapping and keep them in mint condition. I'm saving you the trouble right now. If you read The Book of Job in the Holy Bible, he went through the same thing. He stocked up on meaningless possessions and one day The Lord took everything away from him. Avoid being a materialist!

Heavy stuff! But I wouldn't say the lord took everything away, I would say that was just bad luck.

That was my first as well.
It can be addicting and I don't know why. I find myself trying hard to not double dip. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't.

Throughout my DVD buying days I never purchased a single steelbook - not by choice, it just never happened. Finally grabbed my first on BD when an eBay seller was clearing out sealed UK Terminator 2 BD steelbooks - I got mine delivered for £7.58 (about $12).

Oh yeah... you are in trouble.

I started like you with collecting them. Now I find myself paying $40 for some imports just to have the steelbook case with nothing added beyond the standard release in plastic amaray case for $25.
