Default SyFy's: The Sixth Gun

Sixth Gun Set To Become A TV Mini Series On Syfy!

Quote:
Bleeding Cool are reporting that the comic book Sixth Gun will be heading to the small screen. They report that a mini series based of the comic by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt is set to air on Syfy after an announcement for the series was made at SDCC, though no other information is given by them regarding the project.

If you are unfamiliar with the comic, here is a brief synopsis via Comic Attack:

During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time the Sixth Gun, the most dangerous of the weapons, vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way.

Swing back here for any news as the project develops.

So this is SyFy's answer to Supernatural, but with a very low and cheap looking budget? Hmmmm............

Looks like it. Wonder if it will do good enough for SyFy to bring it on as a full series if it has enough story to it.

I've so far given up on just about every SyFy show I've ever watched. For me the final nail in the Sanctuary coffin was the expanded season this year with twice as many episodes it was 50% filler. So I don't know if I will bother with them anymore. So far I've quit Eureka, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Haven, and probably several others I've forgotten to mention, the writing and very cheap effects always make me lose interest very quickly on this network and it's Canadian productions.

I only watch Being Human and Haven. Not sure about Alphas as I enjoyed the first 2 episodes and really hope they don't end up dragging the show on and on.

Oh man, the comic is awesome! I'm hoping they stay as true to the source material as possible.

The comic book is decent, think Jonah Hex in tone. But on a typical SyFy budget, I am not sure how decently this series will turn out.
