I'm just thinking out loud here but I think it makes sense. Hear me out. So I'm figuring that once the sales stats for Troy or the Polar Express or whatever WB movies that have been on HD DVD for a while yet are now making their way to Blu-ray - I think that those BD sales numbers will reflect purely Blu-ray exclusive owners (as those who own both BD and HD DVD players would probably already own the title and as we all know...combo players aren't doing so hot)...so I'm thinking that these sales numbers will give us a very good indication of where Blu-ray actually stands. All of this probably goes without saying but I'm just really looking forward to how lopsided the figures are for WB's BD vs HD DVD titles. being the only neutral studio in this war, their sales figures represent where we are at in this war. and thats that...

yeah, it will be interesting, i couldn't find a copy of troy on sept 18th, but i only stopped at one BBY(best buy). i did a quick online instore search and it was sold out in 5 out of 7 area stores.
i think we'll see substainal sales of bd vs hd-dud. have we all forgotten about sales of the departed already? |

I just wish they put out their really big blockbusters- I know, I know, everyone has been talking about Batman Begins and the Matrix- so I do not mean to beat a dead horse, but Batman was on their web page and now all of the Matrix's have dropped off too. Its like they put them on their webpage, and then said "Na, just kidding" and took them off. What is taking so long!! If they had those out, then the sales would really be lopsided.

According to this site, all Warner titles have been region free so far.
http://bluray.liesinc.net/ (Which makes sense, since they also release in HD-DVD...doesn't make much sense to region code only the Blu-ray releases.) enjoy gandalf ![]() |
