Yes they do. Unfortunately, the shipping is pretty pricey to the US. Also, if it doesn't ship for like 2 weeks, you should send an email to remind them. Last time I ordered from them, they didn't ship because something was backordered (and it said it would be in stock after 2 weeks). After 2 weeks, I emailed them, they shipped right away. I get the impression they are a small company. Despite that hiccup, I had a good experience with them I will definitely use them to get this Blu.

My friend loves Ki-duk Kim's movie, but I don't. Sometimes, it's hard to realize what Kim wants to tell us. I'd rather go to see transformer 3 dark of the moon instead of buying this blu-ray.

Kim Ki Duk's films are definitely an acquired taste. Kind of like Lee Chang Dong films as well. They are very much art house. However, I enjoy them. 3-Iron was Ki Duk's quintessential film for me. Love that film. Hope it gets a blu release soon.
The Bow was interesting. I've seen it a few times and I still haven't figured out if I liked it or not. I'd also like to see The Isle make it to Blu. That was definitely a movie that scarred my mind. The fish hook scene? Ya, I'll never get that image out. If anything his films will definitely look pretty on blu. Seeing as if they give it a proper transfer. |

I'll report back as soon as the disc arrives. I'm in a much better position to be a guinea pig this time since we upgraded our old Sony 1080i CRT to a larger Sony LCD.
I dont think I've ever watched The Bow but I like Kim Ki Duk so i'll blind buy anything he's directed. 3 Iron and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring are the two I want on Blu the most (the latter ought to be stunning if the transfer is good). Doubt I would ever buy Bad Guy... great movie but was so intense and disturbing I dont know if I would want to sit through it again. |

I'm not sure a Sony LCD is a huge visual upgrade from your rear-projection Sony. My Mits was a 1080i CRT professionally calibrated and the image quality just blew away plasma and LCD technology. The only reason I upgraded was to go to a DLA projector but I must admitt I like the extra space in my family room, now that it's been sold. I look forward to your guidance; thanks for taking the time to post

As for this film, I have not seen it but I am a fan of the director. If the PQ/AQ are acceptable I will definitely blind buy |

I absolutely loved "The Bow," though judging by on-line comments I seem to be in the minority. I certainly think it will appeal to fans of "3-Iron," because, like that film...
[Show spoiler] ... in any case, like his other films, the damn thing sticks with you like glue long after you've seen it. I've noticed this with every one of his films that I've seen. My favorite scene... [Show spoiler]

I loved my Sony CRT but the power supply died (supposedly been offered a power supply I can replace it with). I do not miss the overscan though... Also going from 32" to 46" was a bit of a revelation.
PGW, your comparison to 3 Iron has me very interested ![]() |

Ok I looked at it but haven't watched it through... it looks like HD or at least a good upconvert. There are a few issues; first there's weird digital looking artifacts, like jagged lines on random places (I dont think its interlacing). Its not grainy, although if I get right up in front of my tv there is a layer of "noise." That noise seems to change uniformly instead of the look of a grainy movie. I think i've heard that described before with DNR? There also looks like edge enhancement to me.
Its not a very fair comparison but I checked it against netflix instant streaming. The blu was in every way superior. Comparing the lossy and lossless audio on the blu, the lossless audio has much better bass. During the music over the opening scene you can hear a very punchy drum beat, where on the lossy audio it sounds like a generic bassy boom. I dont have a PS3 anymore so I cant give you any bitrates. I'll try getting a picture from my camera of the digital artifacts. |
