If I connect my Yamaha RX-V467 receiver to my Polk PSW-650 subwoofer through the LFE input it works great for movies, problem is it won't produce any sound when listening to music.
If I take the same RCA cable and connect it to the L or R (or both with a Y-adapter) inputs on the sub it doesn't work at all. In fact when I run the YPAO calibration when connected this way the receiver doesn't even register that I have a subwoofer connected. I was starting to think my subwoofer input terminals were bad, but as a test I I ran my cable from the red/white audio out jacks on the receiver into the L/R inputs on the sub and it works (although it sounds horrible) so I know it's not the inputs themselves that are the problem. Anyone have this problem before? What about any tips for getting the sub to work while connected to the LFE inputs while listening to music? I know most music is only 2.0 but my receiver has modes which produce sound from all 5.1 speakers. The sub icon lights up on the receiver display but no sound comes from it. |
