So as most of us know - "The Craft" came out last Tuesday and I did see a few other people in here mention they were picking it up but never saw a thread about the release - I just wanted to see if everyone was happy with the release - PQ wise, extra's, and stuff like that. I'm not a real technical person, but I was pleased with it. I never upgraded my VHS to DVD on this one - I have no idea why - so this was a day one purchase for me.
Any other opinions? ![]() The Craft Blu-ray Review Last edited by Deciazulado; 12-29-2010 at 01:13 AM. |

Just watched it on Friday, and I am really impressed by it. Picture quality is really good except for a couple white specs. There is a fair amount of grain present in the dark scenes as well, just to let you know. The grain only bothered me in one scene towards the end. Audio is good as well. I recommend picking it up.

What do you mean the movie is showing as full screen? Have you tried altering your monitors zoom or Picture Size option? Most screens can switch between various settings such as 4:3 (Full Screen) 16:9 (Widescreen) and others such as Zoom, Wide Fit, etc. Make sure your screen's picture size settings are set correctly.

Thanks adrock41 and Deciazulado for answering, my HDTV and Blu Player were both set on 16:9 but I changed it to Just scan on the tv and now it's just slightly less stretched with very thin black bars like the screenshot posted
on the special features the black appear on the sides of the screen Last edited by Talal86; 12-29-2010 at 05:17 AM. |

I picked this Blu-ray up for $6 at a Farmer's Market. Same place I got 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with slip for $6.
I've loved this film since I was a kid, but for some strange reason, I ever owned it on VHS or DVD. I would always catch it on TV (lately, on Encore). This marks the first time I've seen it in it's full aspect ratio, which was nice. As for the quality, I was kind of disappointed with the transfer. It's not very sharp (almost like the A Clockwork Orange transfer), and the contrast is off. Overall, there are many improvements to be done on the picture. The sound was great though! The extras were adequate, but I found the "Behind the Scenes" to be a waste of time. It's basically an extended trailer with about 5 seconds of actual behind the scenes, and about a minute of interviews. Overall, I'm glad that I bought it. I give the PQ a 3.5, Audio a 5, extras 2. |
