Blu-ray Samurai

The reason that I ask is because when I posted about my Panasonic blu-ray player dying after 16 months of light use, I noticed that a few users had reported that they had never updated their firmware and never had any problems with their player. When I bought a replacement Panny-45 player a month ago, I decided not to update the firmware and see if I encountered any issues. So far I've watched about 25 movies on it with no problems.
So I ask, what's the deal with updating firmware? Risks/benefits in your experience? |
