Wow, at least you finally post something and back it up with something concrete...something you normally never do, hence the responses you usually get around here.

That's what happens when you repeatedly sh*tcan your own credibilty time and again: You cry wolf too many times and no one is going to believe you.

Most of your posts around here have been you trying to pass off misinformed opinions, FUD, speculation, and pure nonsense as facts without any concrete backup whatsoever. I think you've been treated very generously, all things considered.

As is: I will wait until I see this confirmed and verified by mainstream sources.

At this point, it really wouldn't surprise me if it checks out. Every BR product gets delayed and kept on the same page for a unified launch.

The FUD-sters like yourself will have a field day on the Internet for a couple of more months, with "OH NOES BR IS TEH DOOM$ED!!!!" but again: I'd rather see delays happen NOW, for the sake of quality control, in favor of getting a better product later on.

There's no point in rushing any of this, like the HD-DVD camp clearly did. It's not like people are lined up around the block, several streets over, ready to buy this stuff en masse.

Again, that's because most of your posts here HAVE been FUD, speculation, and trying to pass off these things, along with misinformed opinions, as facts. No one has any sympathy for you and watching you try to play the indignant martyr card is laughable, at best.

This is how you shi*can your own credibility. It's like crying wolf too many times. So, no, no one is going to believe you unless you back it up with something concrete, which you did in another thread.

Like I said there: I'm waiting to see that story confirmed by some mainstream sources.

Default I'd believe...

Ars before I'd believe your source...
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060612-7036.html

"The third manufacturer scheduled to launch a Blu-ray player is Samsung, which has named June 25 as the big day. When contacted by Ars, the company insisted that their own launch remains on schedule for a New York introduction in two weeks."

And from the comments forum by "iaflyer"

"I was walking through the air freight terminal at JFK last week and saw some Samsung blu-ray players sitting ready to head out the door. I'd say there was about 10 pallets of the players - all told about 250 players or so? This was an international warehouse, so they would of just come in from Asia most likely."

Seems like they are indeed shipping -- well before the formal introduction/release. While 250 might not seem like many, if the formal release is 25 June, many, many more are likely to ship between now and then.

That is a UK site, so I'm quite sure it just means it has been delayed in the UK since they've already started to ship out to stores in the US.

And that certainly would be nothing new.

Canada and especially Europe are constantly getting the shaft on consumer electronics, even down to videogames. Several months' behind the US and even Japan is par for the course, unfortunately.

A thread he made with a UK link.

I think you made a very good point about that delay being in regards to Europe.

Was it schedualed for release in the UK in June as well? This I don't know. Maybe it was just for the UK, however I think they are talking about the United States.

Closed until further proof is found. There are no indications from any of the major news sources in the USA that this is true. In fact, late last week Samsung themselves said they have started shipping their players to Best Buy, Circuit City, and J&R. Seems a bit hard to swallow that they'd ship the players out late last week and have to recall them early this week because they've decided to delay - too odd.

Update: Whew, good news (well, for us Americans at least). Samsung has confirmed that the US launch is still "on schedule," although Bite was right on the money about the UK delay, so as usual, Brits are gonna have to wait a little longer to get a hot new product.
Source: http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/13/s...delayed-again/

The article specifically mentions the Pocket-Lint article. The UK launch of the Samsung is delayed, the US launch is NOT!
