Just bought my first SD DVD since December... - Blu-ray Forum

Now, I may get blasted for this....might not....as some of you still buy SD DVD regularly. Had to buy "Knocked Up"... I walked by it and told myself I couldnt wait til it hit blu....then turned back around and picked it up. As soon as it was in my hands, the money might as well have been out of my debit account. On a side note.....Best Buy just made room for a lot more HD DVD and Blu-ray

I did the same. Been wanting to see it for a while now. I've only bought like 3 SD movies since buying my PS3..:P (Knocked Up, BloodRayne 2 : Deliverance, and Dead Silence)

I have bought Moral Orel Season 1 on SD and that was my only one since Dec of last year. It should be last for a few more years. Family Guy is calling my name though.

It may seem extreme, but, I just don't want to dump money into a studio like Universal. They don't support my interests, why should I support theirs?

*Cough*....somebody help.....I'm going to throw up....right now...HD DVD commercial on Knocked Up. I guess I asked for it but come on....do we really need that.

Yeah, one came out I had to have too. Pre-ordered Help! SD DVD along with the Spidy trilogy BD. Too big of a Beatles fan to pass up but it is the only SD DVD I bought all year.

only sd-dvd i have bought since may or so last year was the indy trilogy. i wanted it when it came out but never got it because of price. then i was at costco a few weeks ago and they had the set for $30. oh well

Hate to say it, but I broke down and bought Knocked Up today as well. It was too damn funny in the movies.

Not sure if Knocked Up benefits from HD anyway. I will purchase since it's only $16.99 - my upscaling works beautifully.

23.99 at Walmart....Don't know if thats cheap or not couldn't get to Best Buy to see there prices.

Death Proof was the first SD DVD I've purchased since I bought my PS3. My hope is that someday we'll get the true Grindhouse on Blu. I'll be picking up Planet Terror on the 16th. Other than the 2 of those, I can't see myself buying another SD DVD for a very long time.

I was thinking the same!

Even if I had an HDDVD player I might consider the regular DVD version (or 2 disc unrated) because of rsound's point and the price of the combo disc here in Canada.
DVD: $24
DVD (2 disc): $28
HD DVD combo: $38

make sure you buy minimum number of DVD. the royalties go to toshiba, and it can be used to attack us back (e.g. paramount)

I bought Knocked up Today. Looks good on Sony Bdp-s300. I hate Universal. It seemed like they sold 10 to 12 copies on HDDUD at my Bestbuy. They had standard and Hd on a gondola up front. Did I mention I hate Universal....oh and Paramount/Dreamworks!!!!!

I was tempted at Fry's today, they had they unrated version for 14.99, but I passed, i'll rent it.
I did get dirty sanchez though...I hope its good!
