Default Austin Powers Part 1 CUT!

In Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery there were 2 scenes missing.

The first one was the wife getting the call after Austin drove over her husband.

The other one was the one where Rob Lowe received the Phone Call that his friend wouldn't be able to come to the party.

This applies to the US Version of the Film.

Isn't Rob Lowe in the second film, not the first?

The first scene you mentioned was a deleted scene. I've never actually seen it put back into the film, but it is on the disc in the deleted scenes section.

That's strange. I used to own the German DVD of that movie and both Scenes were back in the movie.

Strange.. strage.. And yes, Rob Lowe is in the 2nd film. As a young Nr. 2..

This is the US cut of the film, nothing was edited. They were included in the UK cuts

This has been discussed quite a few times.

I've watched the movie tonight and those scenes seriously didn't really lack in the movie. They're included in the bonus features and I think the movie's better off without them in it. It slowed the action down way too much.

Thanks.. I didn't know that.. Honestly I don't remember which one I used to own. The German or the UK, but I just missed the scenes. I thought the movie was cut.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. But at least I can sleep well tonight, knowing that I didn't buy a cut version..

Exactly. Those scenes have always been deleted from every US release prior all the way back to the theater release. Sometimes they use them for TV edits and they did appear as extras on the original DVD release, but that's it.

I have to say I prefer the UK cut but then that was the version I saw in the cinema.

I've only ever owned the US version,(on DVD and now BD), despite living in Britain. The deleted parts do nothing for me and only ruin the pace of the movie,(IMO).

Does the US version have the Christian Slater scene, where he's cross eyed and looking for sherbert?

It's not featured in the film, it may be in the deleted scenes feature. It's on you tube if you want to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhuOIbg-hM0
