Peter Gabriel - New Blood Live in London
Following a brief theatrical run there will be a Live Blu Ray and 3D Blu Ray... There will be a seperate studio CD ("New Blood") released as well.
Quote:
Peter Gabriel must really enjoy the sound of his voice backed by a full orchestra. He used one for his recent covers album, Scratch My Back, and took one out with him earlier this summer for a little tour. That trek had Gabriel giving his own back catalog a 46-piece makeover, and now fans who missed those shows are getting the chance to see and hear some of the reworked music for themselves.
One chance comes in the form of his upcoming New Blood album. Dropping October 11th via Universal Music, it’s not yet clear which of the prolific recording artists’ tracks will get the studio strings-and-horns treatment. Logic would dictate that at least some of them will come from the other opportunity to behold the New Blood Orchestra: the upcoming concert film of their recent summer tour.
Entitled New Blood Live In London, the movie will enter select theaters in September, with a home version available October 25th. Shot over two days last March at The Hammersmith Apollo in London, the film was captured on some of that newfangled HD 3D technology (wouldn’t that make it 4D?). The setlist pulls from Gabriel’s own catalog, while also including a handful of Scratch My Back covers. The full listing is down below, along with a clip of Gabirel covering Regina Spektor’s “Après Moi” during a concert in Berlin.
Blu-ray, DVD, and a set including both versions plus a 3D Blu-ray one will be available for home viewing come October 25th from Eagle Rock Entertainment. There will also be a special edition set that includes the New Blood record, the film on DVD and Blu-ray, a bonus CD of concert highlights, and a 60-page hardcover photo book.
