France La Vie en Rose (La môme) - Is it worth buying?

La môme Blu-ray

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/La-mo...y/6258/#Review

It would be a blind buy for me but I want to mention that I love French movies a lot and specially movies with period costumes, dark colors and nice cinematography. pro-bassoonist has given the movie a solid review and a must to have in collection so pro-bassoonist if u r reading it kindly pls reply that what you think? Should I import it from France? Is it worth the money? and all those who own this BD please comment.

Edit: There is an Australian version also available. Can anyone please comment about the quality of Australian BD:

Thanks.

Kashif,

I like the film a lot -- the Oscar was well deserved.

The presentation is very good, and as far as I am concerned this disc is well worth the 12 Euro Amazon is asking for it

La môme Blu-ray

As a whole, I would say that Marion Cotillard had the Oscar thanks to her make-up people, and that the movie not only hasn't any cinematographic originality, but that it sinks into all the melodrama clichés you can think of.

50 years since Douglas Sirk's US melodramas, and here we are.

The BR is wonderful, but really, you should instead buy the Douglas Sirk Carlotta boxsets.
